About Codorus

ErskineCodorus Engineering Ltd is a consultancy specialising in the practical issues relating to steel bridge construction, refurbishment and repair.

The company is based on the experience of its proprietor, Geoff Booth, who has an extensive and successful track record in steel bridge construction, and a network of contacts that can bring additional experience to the table as required.

AvonmouthGeoff’s early years in the industry were spent on major box girder structures including the Erskine , Avonmouth and Humber Bridges, where he progressed quickly and gained his passion for all things related to steel bridge construction.

KessockHe subsequently became the project manager for the first tranche of major strengthening work to Tinsley Viaduct. On completion of that project he moved to the north of Scotland to act as Project Manger for the construction of Kessock Bridge over the Beauly Firth near Inverness.

Thereafter, with a declining market for long span bridges, he moved back to Fairfield-Mabey in Chepstow where he served as Engineering Director for 20 years, working in the team that transformed the company into one of the most advanced and automated bridgework fabrication companies in the world.

Wye Strengthening

Along the way Geoff has developed a particular interest in bridge strengthening, refurbishment and repair. His reputation gained in managing the complex Tinsley Viaduct strengthening project in the late 1970’s led to him acting as Project Director for the re-cabling of the cable stayed Wye Bridge near Chepstow, which is still regarded as one of the most onerous bridge refurbishment projects undertaken in the UK.
